Where and how to apply for a Schengen Visa

You should apply for a Schengen visa to the nearest authorised Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence.  If you want to visit one Schengen country only, you should apply for a visa to the Embassy or Consulate of that country. If you want to visit several Schengen countries, apply to the Embassy or Consulate in the country where your main destination is situated. If you intend to visit several Schengen countries but do not have a main destination, you should apply to the Embassy or Consulate of the Schengen country of your first port of entry.

You need to fill in a visa application form. You can download the application form used at the Norwegian embassies, or obtain the form free of charge from the Embassy.

Iceland has decided to delegate the issuing of visas to Iceland to other Schengen countries' embassies around the world. This also applies to countries where Iceland has an embassy.

The procedures and expected time of processing for visa applications varies from embassy to embassy. You should therefore visit the homepage of the embassy in question to seek more information on how to apply for a visa there.

The Embassy in Reykjavík can provide you with the relevant forms you need. However, the Embassy cannot accept any applications on behalf of Norwegian Embassies in other countries, nor interfere in the application procedures in any way.
